Welcome to Kettering Buccleuch Academy

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about Kettering Buccleuch Academy – a co-educational school providing for pupils aged 4 – 18 with a Primary Department and 6th Form.

Beginning life at a new school whether your child is starting for the very first time at the age of 4 or is transferring from another school into Year 7 or the 6th Form is an important milestone in their life. In choosing Kettering Buccleuch Academy you will have chosen a place that seeks to bring out ‘the best in everyone’.  To help us achieve this with our students we launched our ‘believing is achieving’ campaign in September 2011. This is designed on four principles:

  • I know who I am
  • I know what I want
  • I know what to do
  • Hard work will get me there

This message for students is at the forefront of all we do and in so doing we believe it is important for them to develop a strong sense of self, know what they want out of life and to understand that hard work along with a positive attitude will get them there. We are aspirational and ambitious for our school. We want it to be the best school in the local area and one of the best in the country. Our academic performance is rising and we continue to aim higher to ensure that all our students achieve as well as they are possibly able.

Our name reflects our strong links with the Duke of Buccleuch, whose family connection with Kettering stretches back for almost 500 years and remains very much alive today. We are delighted to be supported by the Duke’s estate and benefit from its experience in promoting education in this area.

Our website can only give you a glimpse of the academy. To see for yourself what we can offer your child, please come to one of our Open Days or make an arrangement to visit us at another time.

I very much look forward to meeting you.

Dawn Cotter

Principal
