Welcome to Kettering Buccleuch Academy

It is with great pride that I write to you as the new Principal of Kettering Buccleuch Academy.  I already know that we have wonderful children, skilled and dedicated staff and superb buildings.  The atmosphere within our school is a great foundation, but we can achieve far more.

We are all embarking upon a journey, and we will be travelling fast, to become the undoubted first choice for education in our region, whether that be selective, comprehensive or independent.

I am so excited by the potential of our community. A new and innovative community of children aged 4-19.  We welcome children in Reception at the start of their learning journey and support their development through Primary, into Secondary and on into our Sixth Form.  We receive children and support them to develop as an individual to leave us as skilled, rounded and qualified young adults.  They will then be ready to take their place in the modern world economy, whether continuing to the very best Universities, or having a secure foothold in the world of work.  Ours will be the community of first choice to release the potential of all.

My and our philosophy will be simple.  We will challenge and support each and every child to achieve more than they thought themselves capable of, whilst at the same time finding school life to be more enjoyable than they thought it was supposed to be.  Mature and mutually respectful relationships will characterise our community and we will achieve excellence in every way, leaving no stone unturned.

Our aim will be nothing less than to become a beacon school in the region, be respected as a ‘Beyond Outstanding’ Academy and to be recognised as a national and international innovative model of best practice.

Our name reflects our strong links with the Duke of Buccleuch, whose family connection with Kettering stretches back for almost 500 years and remains very much alive today. We are delighted to be supported by the Duke’s estate and benefit from its experience in promoting education in this area.
